The London Olympic and Paralympic Games are likely to require up to 20, 000 wireless frequency assignments and according to Ofcom, 12, 505 applications were approved during 2011.
Digital switch-over is due to complete in London by 18 April 2012.  Ofcom plan to make the “digital dividend” spectrum released as a result of switch-over available for use during the 2012 Games, after which it will be auctioned.
