EN 55024:2010

01 December 2013

EN 55024:2010 is now the oldest version of the standard which can be used to provide a presumption of conformity with the essential requirements of the EMC Directive.

EN 55024:2010 is the Harmonised Standard for Information technology Equipment and specifies the regulatory limits of electromagnetic immunity that this type of equipment must have, together with the measurement procedures and test equipment that must be used when measuring the level of electromagnetic immunity.

All electrical and electronic products are exposed to electromagnetic phenomena (such as electrostatic discharge for example) that may disrupt normal operation or possibly result in permanent damage.  Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specifications such as EN 55024 specify a level of immunity to these phenomena that should allow the equipment to function normally in the intended operating environment.
