EN 55022:2010

01 December 2013

EN 55022:2010 is now the oldest version of the standard which can be used to provide a presumption of conformity with the essential requirements of the EMC Directive.

EN 55022:2010 is the Harmonised Standard for Information technology Equipment and specifies the regulatory limits of electromagnetic disturbance that this type of equipment may generate, together with the measurement procedures and test equipment that must be used when measuring the level of electromagnetic disturbance.

All electrical and electronic products produce unwanted radio emissions as an unintentional by-product of normal operation.  Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specifications such as EN 55022 place limits on the permissible level of this electromagnetic pollution in order to protect wireless communications devices from excessive levels of radio interference.
