French power restriction on the use of the 2.454 GHz -2.4835 GHz sub-band lifted

30 June 2012

Commission Decision 2009/812/EC has now expired. This means that it is now no longer necessary for RLAN equipment intended for use outdoors in the 2454.0 MHz to 2483.5 MHz sub-band to be restricted to a maximum EIRP of 10 mW for the French Market.

The lifting of this country specific restriction means that:

  • RLAN equipment operating at an EIRP of 100 mW may now be sold in France
  • It will no longer be necessary to apply the Class II alert symbol to 2.4 GHz RLAN equipment sold in France
