Sentinel project research reveals UK GPS jammer use

22 February 2012

Nowadays many business and public sector bodies use Global Positioning System (GPS) technology as an important part of their operations. Uses of GPS technology range from delivering accurate time and date information, to vehicle tracking and navigation.

A recent study recorded more than 60 GPS jamming events at a single location on the UK road network over a six month period. It is believed that GPS jammers may be used to defeat the vehicle tracking technology in common use by logistics companies to provide real-time information on the whereabouts of vehicles.
